What is a Prosthodontist?
A Prosthodontist specializes in the esthetic (cosmetic) restoration and replacement of teeth with treatments such as implants, crowns, veneers and dentures, restoring optimum appearance and function to your smile.
Prosthodontics is a Dental Specialty. Like Orthodontists or Periodontists, Prosthodontists complete an additional 3 years of specialty training after dental school. In order to become Board Certified, they must also go through a rigorous course of additional study and a series of examinations. Only 2% of dentists in the U.S. are Prosthodontists, but less than 1% are board-certified.
